Strengtheningorganisations towards a positive future.

Ruth tunes into the organisation superbly and gains respect and rapport with all stakeholders. Her knowledge of theory, research and the latest science combined with her impressive ability to apply this to any real work scenario is second to none and she is able to offer both a level of insight and challenge which is invaluable. I would recommend Ruth to any organisation looking for organisational or individual development on any scale.

Meet Ruth

Welcome

As an applied positive psychology practitioner,  I am committed to helping organizations create healthier, more engaged and successful workplaces.

Across the 20 years of my working life I have been privileged to work across many sectors and industries around the globe, all of which were created to provide solutions to some of the world’s greatest challenges. From struggling healthcare systems navigating the most pressing public healthcare crisis in modern times, through to rapidly expanding global corporates - accelerating their leadership capability to meet the demands of a scaling business.

What struck me was that these workplaces were directing a siginifcant amount of their energy towards a common narrative; a focus on deficits, weaknesses and problems:

“ What are the issues …?”

“ What’s broken….?”

“ How can we fix  …?”

I'm sure this sounds familiar.

I, along with many of my clients and colleagues found this persistent viewpoint somewhat negative and draining, and often unproductive- actually making it harder to achieving the outcomes and positive change that was desired.

And interestingly, the science backs this up.

My discovery of the science of positive psychology in early 2002, opened a window into a new way of seeing these challenges – through the lens of strengths, opportunities and possibility -all backed by rigorous science.

I felt a calling to work in this space, and it’s been central to my work ever since.

I have seen first-hand the incredible ability we have to create positive change by choosing a view that is more strengths-based, optimistic, and solution-focused.

We can all choose to interpret our realities;  a focus on criticisms, stressors, problems and symptoms...

Or we can focus on the meaning and purpose inherent in our work, the elements  that are working well, the aspects we appreciate, the strengths we offer and the solutions we can create in the face of adversity.

By tilting our attention towards what’s right, we can positively influence the realities in our organisations—enabling people and systems to thrive and ultimately achieve better results.

It's highly likely that you are reading this because you know positive change is possible and you are searching for proven, tested and robust approaches that bring a fresh and positive direction.

I can help you do this. We have important work to do together.
